Borne Dance Company’s Sixth Annual NEDA Benefit Show

No Comments News

On 2/27 and 2/28 later this month, the Borne Dance Company will host their sixth annual eating disorder awareness show in honor of the National Eating Disorder Association’s awareness week for the year. You can find the Facebook Event page for it here.

We’ve actually played this show once before – see that photo of me playing a dark stage in the margins of D&I’s About Me section? I played “Lua,” “Blood Bank,” and “Swing Life Away” for the shows in 2020, both songs about keeping and sharing personal secrets as a form of healing that I couldn’t help but bring to their stage. This year, the folks at BDC were kind enough to ask me to record a piece for choreography. That track, an aubade that I eventually called “Hello, Sun,” was recorded late last year and can be found on my SoundCloud here.

Choreography is set to be done by BDC member Courtney Murray, whose dancer’s work ethic I envy more and more each day. I can’t describe how honored I feel by this opportunity, so if you’ve got the time later this month, we’d love to see you there.
