What an amazing experience. I haven’t played percussion for a house show since high school, but getting together with players like Adam Phillips, Will Thomae, and Will Ketter made the whole thing feel like no time had passed at all. The Beatles’ rooftop concert was a special moment for the band, layered in the complexity of emotions that a band at a crossroads can only feel. Given where we are in the world these days, it was difficult not to feel what they felt while we played what they played. And, of course, it was great to reinvent one of my favorites of their classics, “Eleanor Rigby.”
Shows in the time of CORONA-19 are definitely a learning experience, and much was learned from this one here. Patrynize handled the post-production on the video work and they really came through to create one of the best show souvenirs I’ve ever seen. We hope you enjoy. Anybody else need a Ringo?
